The People’s Republic Of Wall Street

Greetings, Comrades!  I bring you GREAT news!  Today, our Fearless Leaders have decided to help end the struggle of the working class Mortgage Lenders and Investment Bankers!  For too long, they have been oppressed by needless bureaucratic intervention; but they were freed not too long ago by our Fearless Leaders in an attempt to bring greatness back to the People!  They fought valiantly in their struggle, and it appeared all was lost.  Then, once again…our Fearless Leaders came forth and offered a new, guaranteed way of ensuring the Greatness of The Peoples’ Republic Of Wall Street!

We, the People shall now share the burden of their struggle for solvency by lending our vast resources to them once again, so that we may show the World the vast power and strength of our Financial Markets!  We shall all have to work harder and contribute more of our income…but think of the glory and potential profits, Comrades!  Think of it!  We shall finally make our Institutions of Finance greater than they ever have been before; and if we cannot achieve that in in this generation, then surely your children and your grandchildren will pick up our vast Legacy!

Our struggle may not be over yet, Comrades!  Do not let a false sense of security lull you into letting down your guard for the greater good!  Our Fearless Leaders may ask more of us in the future; we may have to give up our food and health care benefits or possibly send our Sons and Daughters off to fight a war in order to maintain our Greatness!  Fear not!  We shall prevail as we always have Comrades, and our Corporate Institutions will be stronger than ever, and though we may give up much, we shall all be better and stronger for it.  Be brave!  Stand united, Comrades!

For as it always has been, that which does not kill you makes you stronger!

  1. What happens if we don’t do it? (as if that would happen) Seriously. The markets crash and then what? The dollar is worth 12 cents (or whatever) and it is still good for legal tender, right… therefore all the debt that people have (I realize that you, arkangel3, are one of the few, the proud, the (relatively) debt-free) but for those of us who owe, oh say $250K on a predatory student loan, it means I can pay with my worthless dollars, right? In addition to the oh-so-valuable “In God We Trust”, it says right on the paper, “This note is legal tender for all debts public or private.” So we become a barter society, we work for worthless paper, pay our public or private debt with same, and we barter our services like oh, carpentry, or dress-making, or house cleaning, or plumbing, or even working in fields, for other services or the real products we need… of course that assumes someone will still make the real products we need.

My other question is and believe me this is important, my (step)daughter (I don’t have any bio-kids) whom I love as if she were my own, is going on an 8 month study abroad. Do I let her go? Will there be an America for her to come back to? Will she even be able to get back?

    After watching Naomi Wolf
and after reading her articles in HuffPo and

I think we may have already imbibed the kool-aid and lost all our rights and that without a new form of the Boston Tea Party, we might as well accept the fact that we live in an totalitarian state, we just haven’t acknowledged it yet.

    Just sign me,

  2. I’ve just spent some time watching the video and read the statements of Naomi Wolf…and she (and you) are absolutely correct. In some irony, when she laid out all the steps that lead to Dictatorship and Fascism, the inescapable truth of the matter is we have passed 9 of the 10 benchmarks. All that is left now is Martial Law to be declared, and I fear that is not too far off.

When Habeas Corpus was in effect suspended, I was outraged. The very Rule of Law that went back as far as the Magna Carta was thrown out the window. Keith Olbermann had a Special Comment on that very night that was indeed very telling:

At the end of his talk, and at the end of Ms. Wolf’s talk, there was one commonality: the need to place the Tyrants of Freedom and Justice on trial, and if found guilty, put them in jail. Unless they are made to be held accountable for the very assault on Freedom they espouse, there will be more Tyrants. Then they can truly say, “Mission Accomplished”.
